In the foreground to the left is the Merrimack River, north of the mill is Granite Street and Granite Street Bridge. Behind the mill to the east is the lower canal and a canal bridge - 1952.

In using the 1909 map of the Amoskeag Mills the following buildings and mills in the Southern Division are recognizable. To the south of the # 10 Mill is a store house, In the interior of the compound and behind the # 10 Mill are the following buildings, the roof of the # 10 Mill Annex; Store House # 8; Store House # 8; the Dye House; the Electrical Department; Blower House; Eng. Room; Store House # 4; Chemical House; and the Filter Building. Commercial Street is behind the # 10 mill west of the lower canal.

East of the Lower Canal is South State Street; the Old Machine Shop; the Boiler House; Steam Turbine; and the Wool Store House # 1 & 2 which was also the Automobile Garage. Next is the Manchester Passenger Station, the Covered Platform, and Canal Street.

North of Granite Street next to the rivers edge is the # 7 Mill; # 6 Mill; and the # 5 Mill. The next mill facing east and west is the # 8 Mill; behind is the Top Store House; to the right (east) is the # 9 Mill; at the south east corner a passageway connects the # 9 Mill to the # 4 Mill. To the north of the # 9 Mill is the # 2 Mill with tower; to the west is the Wet Finishing buildings. Behind is Engine House # 1, and the # 1 Mill.

To the east of the # 4 Mill, tenements can be seen between State Street and Canal Street. According to the 1952 Manchester City Directory on page 683, at the intersection of Canal and Granite Streets are, on the east side Clyde Garfield, Inc. , Auto Dealers at 180 Canal Street, and on the west side Rice Inc. Gas Station. Further north along Canal Street on the west side is the Ayer Shell Gas Station at 249 more
